HOW TO CONDITION FLOWERS FOR SHOW

Cut flowers with sharp knife early or late in day, plunging immediately in WARM water - let stand in cool place for several hours before arranging. Try using FLORA-Life or 12 ounces of Sprite (soda) in 1 gallon of water in arrangement container. In advance you may groom side buds to create larger blooms.

SECTION 1      Specimen Flowers — Annuals

Must be cut flowers grown by the exhibitor and must conform to the number of blooms, spikes, stems, or sprays (a main stem with blooms on all side branches) specified in each class. Remove buds showing color to maintain correct numbers of flowers. Leave some foliage on stems. Flowers in each entry must be of one color and variety unless otherwise stated. Identify variety. Use specimens nearing maturity — but not in full bloom.
